Work wanted for The December Salon presented
by ARTSomerville & the Nave Gallery.
DATES: December 2 –18, 2004
SALON HOURS:
Thursdays: December 2, 9, 16, 2004 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturdays: December 4, 11, 18, 2004 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
OPENING RECEPTION: Thursday, December
2, 2004, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Saturday, November 13, 2004, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at location below:

ARTSomerville and the Nave Gallery reserve the
right to refuse any work that does not meet all of the below guidelines.
We cannot guarantee that an artist’s work will be hung together
or that all pieces submitted will be hung at same time. The show will
be hung salon style, and work will be taken down as sold and replaced.
GUIDELINES:
—Work is no larger than 24” X 24”
—Due to space constraints, only artwork that can be hung on a
wall will be accepted
—Prices not to exceed $400
—20% commission of all sales to be paid to ARTSomerville to support
the Nave Gallery
—Participation is limited to artists living and/or working in
Somerville AND neighboring communities.
—Work will not be juried but ARTSomerville and the Nave Gallery
reserve the right to reject work for reasons of space and/or content
—Each artist may submit up to 3 pieces
—Each artist must sign a waiver of liability for theft and/or
damage
—Artwork should be priced to include sales tax
FEES:
—$10 fee per artist
—Must be paid at time of drop off
—Nonrefundable
SALE OF ARTWORK:
We will accept Boston area checks that have an address printed on them
accompanied by a picture ID. Checks will be made out to artist who is
required to then pay ARTSomerville a 20% commission. The artist is responsible
for paying all sales tax to the state.
Payment will be collected by the volunteer staff at the time of sale.
Neither ARTSomerville nor Clarendon Hill Presbyterian Church can accept
liability for bounced checks. Artists may request that cash payment
only be made. This must be clearly marked on back of piece.
PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL:
A promotional card will be produced and mailed to ARTSomerville’s
mailing list. In addition, the December salon will be advertised through
ARTSomerville website, email lists, and a press release to local newspapers.
ABOUT THE NAVE:
The Nave Gallery is a project of ARTSomerville (ARTS) and the Clarendon
Hill Presbyterian Church (CHPC). It is a nonprofit art space providing
a much needed exhibition space for Somerville and local area artists.
It is a completely volunteer effort.
